shhhhh...don't tell anyone these two aren't really engaged. b(rett) happens to be my brother. and he happens to know a fun girl named a(ndrea). both happen to be supportive of me building my engagement/wedding porfolio. i can't thank you guys enough. more of these two sort of lovebirds tomorrow.

I knew the warning signs. In the bathroom. Too long. Too quiet. Far too quiet. And SHE knew the famiar warnings. mommy's make-up. mess. time-out.
But when she emerged soooo proud of herself, not wearing anything but one brown shoe and grey EYESHADOW on and all around her mouth, i melted. pretty much. i was still a little chilly around the edges. still toying with some form of discipline as a possibility. then she brought out the big guns:
"mommy, will you take a picture of me? i look soooo pretty."
i think its obvious how the encounter ended.
and i almost wish i'd never started the contest! seriously, it breaks my heart to only have to deem one photo, and thus, one family as a winner. and it was so close! oh, i know, you're rolling your eyes and thinking, let's get on with it, but i have to say, this whole art as competition thing is tearing me apart inside! sigh. now that i've deflated all enthusiasm for the contest (haha, i hope not), the winner of the 11x14 gallery wrap canvas of a photo of their choice is...
