rip off that bandaid! | Boise Photographer

couch-blog2 ...that's what i tell myself when i create these posts. i say, "no diana, you don't have to show every stinking image from the session..." then i think, then someone tell my clients to curb their beauty because come ON!

case in point:

these three's mama texted me a little while back and asked if i could please squeeeeezzzzeee in a session before she and her family left boise and returned home to las vegas. was i already behind on wrapping up galleries for clients? yes. was i about to refuse this kind woman? heck no!

and so it was that on a sunny monday afternoon, i got to meet three supermodels children. Together we created one of my favorite sessions to date.

Cuz| BOISE CHILDREN'S PHOTOGRAPHER

peek Alas dear blog readers, today i must be brief. i am so behind its not even funny! what's that you say? "you should take a break diana, because there's a holiday coming up, and its meant for merry making?" sigh there is indeed. but the forefathers will just have to forgive me this year (hear that guys?). Someone out there have a killer BBQ in my stead.

Now onto the point. I hope that when you look at these next pictures you see some BIG love between cousins going on. These guys don't get to see each other ALL that much because half of them are landlocked (here in Idaho), and half dwell on an island in the sun (Hawaii, I miss you). But when they do get together, its hugs, and good times, and mayyyyyybeeeee a little bit of havock.

enjoy!

Country Kids and a word to the wise | Boise children's photographer

First you should know that I have a flurry of posts coming at you very soon. Think 2 weddings, an engagment session, possibly a newborn and 2 fun kid sessions. booya grandma. second, get a load of these two cute crazies!!!!!! this session was actually a few weeks ago, and was a secret surprise rush order for father's day. since that party has come and gone, i can now share them with you! the last time i saw this family, well let's just say little boy luke didn't exsit yet. that's why when a practically grown and lovely older sister sadie stepped out of the car, I just about squealed. And why wouldn't I? Sadie is lovely, obviously. But check out cool hand luke with his baby blues! he has such an old fashioned ovaltine-esque look to him. are you feeling it?

are they even real? | utah family photographer

brenley-sb yes people, they're real. no, no, no, i don't just find beautiful people and beg them to let me take their pictures. why would you think that?

although.

the fact that this session happened was sort of a miracle. kristy called me rather out of the blue because of a recommendation she received. we discussed a session at their family's cabin in island park. she described a picturesque field of wildflowers where she'd taken her daughter's photos last year. i saw visions of warm, golden light, and jumped at the chance (duh).

week of the session arrives. its raining. a lot. its raining in boise. its raining in island park. the forecast is for temperatures BARELY in the 60's. uh oh. maybe the dream session was not to be. i prayed and hoped, and cheerfully drove the 4 (or was it 5) hours to Island Park with a mixture of fear and optimism in my heart.

the day of the session turns out to be the warmest day we'd seen all week. there is no rain that morning. we can't quite believe it, and are both a little giddy. I spend with the morning with just kristy (did i mention she's a model. yeah.) taking some photos to update her portfolio. kristy and her family SHOWER me and mine with hospitality and kindness. They are feedubg my daughters graham crackers, and offering to let them nap in another cabin they have access to.

But after our morning session, the clouds thicken. I feel a few drops on my arms and legs. Its cool enough to make me want my jacket. The people in the local gas station our talking seriously about the huge storm blowing in, while I pay nervously for candy. I head over to Kristy and her family's cabin at about 5, determined to make something work. Kristy is just as determined.  and then...

The clouds thin just a bit. The sun peaks out. The droplets that had been picking up force seem to disappear for the duration of our session together. I'm so happy I can hardly concentrate.

Wow. Providence. =)
